WASHINGTON COUNTY PROPERTY TAX APPEAL

Think your Washington County value is too high? I’ll handle the appeal.

I file 2026-27 property value appeals with the Washington County Property Value Appeals Board for homeowners in Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, Forest Grove and the rest of Washington County. I do the evaluation and the paperwork and represent you at the hearing. You pay my fee only if your taxes go down.

Property tax appeals / Washington County

December 20, 2026

Last day for the last required client signature (Pacific time) to lock in my standard 22.5% fee.

December 31, 2026

Washington County’s deadline to file an appeal for the 2026-27 tax year.

February to April 15, 2027

Expected hearing season. The county’s notice sets your date.

Filing in Washington County

  • No county filing fee.
  • Deadline December 31, 2026 for the 2026-27 tax year.
  • Your signed authorization for me to represent you.
  • Evidence of market value as of January 1, 2026 can go with the petition or be presented at the hearing.

County rules checked in October 2026. I confirm the current rules and any fee with you before anything is filed.

How it works

  1. Tell me about your property

Send the short form with the property address and your tax account number if you have it.

  2. Sign the agreement and authorization

Nothing is filed until both are signed. Your fee rate is set by the date of the last required client signature.

  3. I check whether an appeal can save you money

I compare the county’s January 1, 2026 market value with recent sales and your home’s condition, and check whether a lower value would actually lower your bill. If it can’t, I tell you and we stop at no cost.

  4. I file and represent you

I file with the Washington County Property Value Appeals Board before December 31 and present the case at the hearing, so you don’t need to attend.

Washington County questions

What is the Washington County appeal deadline?

Appeals for the 2026-27 tax year must be filed by December 31, 2026. I file well before the deadline.

Does Washington County charge a filing fee?

No. Washington County does not charge a filing fee for a property value appeal.

When do Washington County tax statements arrive?

Washington County mails tax statements in mid to late October. The statement shows the real market value as of January 1, 2026, which is the value an appeal challenges.

Will a lower value lower my taxes?

Not always. A lower market value may lower your assessed value or your taxes under Oregon’s constitutional limits, called compression, or it may save nothing. I check this before recommending an appeal.

Do I need to go to the hearing?

No. I represent you at the Washington County Property Value Appeals Board. You are welcome to attend.

Full details, fees and payment options are on the main property tax appeal page. Other counties: Multnomah County and Clackamas County.
