LOCAL INSTITUTIONS

Places that have been here a while

Clinton Street Theater

est. 1914

One of the oldest continuously operating cinemas in the country, still packing the house a century on. A single-screen survivor and proud of it.

Langlitz Leathers

est. 1947

On Division since 1980

Custom motorcycle leathers made by hand since 1947, with a waitlist and a worldwide reputation. The jackets outlive the bikes.

Tom’s Restaurant and Bar

est. 1975

Tom and Georgia Belesiu opened their diner on Division in December 1975, and their daughter and son-in-law run it today, still cooking from Georgia’s recipes, still serving breakfast all day. Fifty years on one corner.

Reel M Inn

est. 1994

A tavern famous for one thing done patiently: fried chicken and jojos worth the wait, named among Portland’s iconic dishes, in a room that hasn’t changed its mind about anything since opening.

Stumptown Coffee, Division

est. 1999

Where Portland’s modern coffee era started: the original Division roastery presence of a company that changed how the city drinks.
